Accepting these terms
By signing in to Matilda, installing Matilda Code, or sending a request to a Matilda API endpoint, your workspace agrees to these terms. If you are signing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Your account
You are responsible for the credentials your team uses to reach Matilda, meaning API keys and account sessions. Keys are scoped to a workspace; treat them like any other production secret. Notify us at security@maincode.com within 72 hours of suspected compromise.
You must be at least 16 years old to hold a Maincode account. Each member should be a real human; service accounts route through the API, not the sign-in flow.
Your data
Your data stays yours. We claim no ownership over the prompts, files, or output your team generates with Matilda and Matilda Code. You grant us a limited license, bounded to the workspace and the term of your subscription, to store, process, and return that data to your team so the service can run.
That license ends when you delete the workspace or the data. We do not retain a parallel copy.
Acceptable use
Matilda is built for legitimate engineering work. You may not use it to store or transmit unlawful content, route data your jurisdiction prohibits you from exporting, attempt to reach another workspace's data, reverse-engineer the model or Matilda Code, or flood the API with traffic intended to degrade the service.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate workspaces that materially violate this clause. We will tell you what happened and why.
Subscriptions, billing, refunds
Matilda is offered on monthly and annual plans. Charges renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. Workspace owners can downgrade, pause, or cancel from their settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
If something is broken on our end, write to hello@maincode.com within 14 days and we will refund the affected period. Refunds for usage already consumed are at our discretion and we treat that discretion generously.
Service availability
We work to keep the API and the product highly available. The current month's status is at status.maincode.com. We schedule maintenance during low-traffic windows where possible and post advance notice in the product.
Some interruptions, such as third-party outages, regional outages, and security responses, are outside our control. We will tell you what happened, when, and what we changed afterwards.
Intellectual property
The Matilda and Maincode names, the model, Matilda Code, and the documentation are ours. You may not copy, redistribute, or build a competing product on top of them. You keep ownership of any feedback you send us, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to act on it without owing you anything in return.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided as is. Within the limits the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages such as lost revenue, lost data, or downstream failures on systems you build with Matilda.
Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Termination
You may close your workspace at any time. We may suspend access for non-payment, security events, or material violations of the acceptable use clause, with notice where the situation allows it. On termination, your data is removed in line with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the service changes. Material changes get notified to workspace owners by email and posted in the product at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia.
